New for 2024, we're adding after-school, weekly workshops!

With new themes each month, students can practice and improve their pottery skills with different functional pottery projects every month. And because all after-school workshops are all-abilities, students can  jump in for the first time, any month.

Workshops meet on the same day of the week for a month, from 3:30pm-5:15pm at Terracotta Pullman.

To ensure our artists have the best time, we strive to seat our young artists in peer groups. Ages 10+, please.

Here's what's happening at Terracotta for our kids and tweens, Spring 2024:

April: Mothers Day and Fathers Day Gift Sets!

Mondays
3:30pm-5:15pm
April 1, 15, 22, 29
Potters of all ages will create a unique, funky and functional desk set that sparks joy and conversations, just in time to gift for Mother's Day and Father's Day! Potters will already create a candle vessel and select and pour a candle of their choice into it on the last day of class.
Using our studio slab roller and selection of hundreds of textures, potters will select a theme and incorporate it into one-of-a-kind, personalized pottery pieces like:
  • April 1: Business Card Holders and paperclip dishes
  • April 15: Candle vessels and pen holders
  • April 22: Phone Holders and glazing the candle vessels.
  • April 29: Glazing the rest of the pottery and pour a candle into their candle vessels
Potters will receive enough clay and materials to make at least two of each type of project, so they can select their favorites to finish, or complete multiples as gifts. Pottery and candles will be ready to take home Monday, May 6, just in time for Mothers Day!

April: Create a windowsill garden set!

Thursdays
April 4, 18, 25
3:30-5:15pm
In this workshop, kids will learn and practice beginning pottery skills, including slabbing, coil-building, pinch pots and sculpture while they create three planters, a set of garden stakes and a handful of gnomes.  Each week, kids will build on the skills they learned the week before with the next project, practicing and applying their new knowledge while making a series of functional pottery.
Thursdays
  • April 4: Windowsill Herb Garden Planters
  • *No workshop April 11*
  • April 18: Garden Stakes to label seedlings and gnomes for good luck
  • April 25: Glazing and re-making anything needed
Pottery created in this class will be ready to add soil and seeds and take home May 2.

May: Everything Flowers

Thursdays
May 2, 9, 16, 23
3:30-5pm
In this workshop, kids and tweens will learn and practice beginner-friendly pottery projects, using local flowers and leaves to create nature-inspired, functional pottery. When complete, students will have a table set of pottery ready for enjoying and displaying spring flowers!
  • May 2: Vases with floral imprints
  • May 9: Mugs with floral and leaf imprints
