Cat Lady Art Night
Cat Lady Night: An Art Night for Feline Fanatics (and Their Allies)
Whether you're a card-carrying cat lady, a cat lad, or simply someone whose phone camera roll is 94% cat photos, this workshop was made for you. Join us for an evening of hand-building kitty trinket dishes and other purrfectly cat-inspired pottery or fused glass creations — because your favorite four-legged feminist icon deserves to be immortalized.
What You'll Make
Choose your own purrfect adventure:
Clay: Using simple slab-building techniques, you'll create your own cat-themed pottery — think trinket dishes, little sculptural pieces, and whatever else your cat-loving heart dreams up. No pottery experience needed. No artistic resume required. Just enthusiasm and a deep appreciation for cats.
Glass: Craft a sun catcher that's sure to capture light and hearts. See below for some examples.
And starting October:
Mosaics: Bring a paper, color print-out of the real boss of your home and we'll help you translate that into a mosaic portrait. For realz.
Everything's Included
- All clay, tools, kiln firing, and dip-glazing
- All skill levels welcome — beginners especially celebrated
- Pottery-painting available for an additional purchase if you want to go full custom
Bring a Donation, Make a Bonus Project
Bring in canned food, cat food, or feminine hygiene products for our local food banks and we'll let you make a second project at no additional cost. Good karma and extra pottery? That's what we call a win-win.
When Will My Pottery Be Ready?
Your piece will be ready to glaze about two weeks after your workshop, and ready to take home approximately one week after glazing. Drying and firing times are weather-dependent and vary seasonally — pottery dries and fires much faster in July than November, so timing adjusts accordingly.
