Cat Lady Night
Cat Lady Night
Calling all our Cat Ladies & Lads! We're making kitty trinket dishes and other purrrrfect pottery inspired by our favorite four-legged feminist icon.
This workshop utilizes simple slab-building techniques. All clay, tools, firing and dip-glazing included. All abilities welcome and celebrated. Pottery-painting available for additional purchase.
Bring in canned food, cat food or feminine hygiene products for our local food banks and make a second project at no additional cost.
Upcoming Cat Lady Nights:
One Night Every Month, starting at 6pm:
Tuesday, March 24: Pullman In this workshop, we will create kitty cat mugs, with tail handles. Using beginner-friendly slab-building and coiling techniques. All abilities are welcome and celebrated.
Friday, April 17 : Moscow In this workshop, we'll create itty-bitty-kitty wine and tea charms using simple sculpting techniques. All abilities are welcome and celebrated.
Saturday, May 16: Colfax We're creating kitschy kitty spoon rests! Food safe, dishwasher safe, microwave safe (but why, tho?). We will utilize pre-thrown, leather-hard spoon rests and spend our time customizing them with carving and sculptural details. All abilities welcome and celebrated.
Tuesday, June 16: Pullman In this workshop we're creating itty-bitty kitty sculptures. Maybe your little cats are doing handstands, napping in a sunbeam, or playing with a tiny yarn ball. Make up to four cats with the materials and time provided.
Pottery is ready to glaze about two weeks after creating, and ready to take with you one week after that, unless otherwise noted. Pottery drying times and firing times are weather-dependent, and change seasonally. Pottery dries and is fired much faster in July than November.
Images are examples of the types of projects you can create in this workshop. As these are hand made art forms, each piece of pottery will be unique and though some may be similar, differences are expected due to the natural materials and handmade nature of the work.
