Paint Your Own Beer Stein

Your favorite beverage deserves better than the free pint glass you’ve had since freshman year. You know the one.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll customize a slip-cast ceramic beer stein with pottery painting and decorative clay designs made using sprig molds. We start with an existing stein form, so there’s no wheel throwing or building from scratch. You get straight to giving it some personality.

We’ll guide you through painting techniques and show you how to attach sprig-mold decorations for raised details and texture. Keep it classic, cover it in color, or make something your friends will recognize as yours from across the table. Subtlety is available, but not required.

Make a gift for your favorite beer enthusiast or claim it for your own cupboard. Beer, root beer, or a very ambitious serving of tea, we’re not here to police the contents.

No pottery experience needed. Just bring your ideas. “I want a really cool mug” is a perfectly acceptable starting point.
