One-Day Clay Travel Mug Workshop
One-Day Clay Travel Mug Workshop
Your morning coffee deserves better than a generic tumbler from a gas station. Much better. Like, hand-built-by-you-in-a-pottery-studio better.
In this one-day workshop, you'll hand-build a functional, food-safe, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, clay travel mug using slab-building techniques — slab rolling, cutting, and assembling flat pieces of clay into a vessel that's uniquely, unapologetically yours. Add an engraving, carve a texture, stamp a pattern, or just wing it and call it "abstract." Our instructors won't stop you. (They might even applaud.)
We'll walk you through every step, from constructing clean, even walls to shaping a top that makes spilling — a feat that has humbled many before you and will humble you too, briefly, before you nail it. By the end of the day, you'll have a travel mug that tells people you're the kind of person who hand-builds their drinkware. That's not just a mug. That's a personality trait.
What's Included:
- All clay, tools, and materials
- Dip glazing session (scheduled separately)
- Firing and pickup within 2–3 weeks
- Light refreshments — because you clearly take your beverages very seriously
Skill Level: Beginner-friendly — no experience needed, just enthusiasm and strong opinions about your morning routine
Duration: 2 hours
Whether you're treating yourself to the most creative Tuesday of your life or searching for a gift idea so original it makes people feel bad about their own gift-giving ...this is it. You'll leave with clay under your fingernails and a travel mug with an actual origin story, ready for its close-up.
Photos are of travel mugs made in our studio by previous students and members. Everyone's creations will be unique.
