Handmade BananaGrams Set
Handmade BananaGrams Set
Inspired by the stand of banana trees at our newest studio location on the Big Island of Hawaii, we're making a series of Hawaii-proof, off-grid clay games that can be played on the lanai--and your porch--all year.
Never heard of it? It's like Scrabble, but without a board and everyone plays at once. And you keep it in a banana-shaped pouch (which we will also make together!).
Join us to craft a custom set of BananaGrams and an up-cycled banana-shaped pouch to keep them in! Personalize the back of your tiles with a spectacular reactive glaze or a meaningful symbol; customize your banana pouch with a name, inside joke, or embroidery. Or make it a pineapple. Or a fish. Just make it yours.
Want to make your set with a second pair of hands (a roomie or bestie, perhaps?) GREAT! Just make sure to let us know at check-out so we can save you an extra seat, and bring a canned food donation for the West Side Food Pantry.
Workshop includes two days in the studio, instruction, templates, firing and dip-glazing, needles and thread, and a selection of some clean, pre-loved fabrics. You're also welcome to bring your own!

The green set is created with a celadon laze and wax resist. Each artist's individual creations will be unique, as they are all handmade, and we have the tools for almost limitless combinations available in the studio..
