WSU Family Weekend: Tiny Houses

Go Cougs. And also — make a tiny version of the place your Coug calls home. 🐾

You drove to Pullman. At least twice. You toured the campus. You listened to your student explain "burning couches." You deserve a pottery class.

WSU Family Weekend is the perfect time to do something together that you'll actually keep forever — and we mean forever, because clay lasts approximately as long as civilization. Come sculpt a miniature replica of the places that matter most: their dorm, your family home back in your hometown, or that Greek house they've been describing for months. (Yes, we can do columns. Yes, it will be adorable. Yes, you will take seventeen photos of it.)

Each finished piece doubles as a candle luminary or houseplant decoration — functional, charming, completely one-of-a-kind, and approximately one thousand times more meaningful than a Pullman souvenir mug. Buildings range from 2"x2" to about 5"x5" depending on your ambition and how elaborate your student's Greek house actually is.

• All clay and sculpting materials
• Texture stamps: brick, wood planks, siding, shingles, and more
• Templates for walls, roofs, doors, and windows
• Instructor guidance from start to finish
• A finished piece that will live on a mantle for the next twenty years and make everyone ask where you got it

• Any building that holds a memory worth keeping

Bring an inspiration photo of your building for maximum detail and personalization. You're also welcome to bring your own tools and embellishments if you're feeling extra. 

This workshop can go all night, if that's what you want. We schedule it for three hours -- 3:30pm to 6:30pm so you can get dinner, but if you want to keep creating in the studio that's cool with us. We wont start making it weird until the mops come out at 8:30pm.
