Somewhere between a lush Hawaiian hillside and a wood-fired kiln, there is a version of you that is deeply, profoundly covered in clay — and could not be happier about it. That version of you is waiting. This retreat is how you get there.
Join us for a 4-day off-grid pottery retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii, where the emails can't reach you, the views are intoxicating, and the only agenda is making things with your hands, eating well, and remembering what it feels like to slow down on purpose.
🌺 What to expect:
Day 1 — Arrive & Unwind
Settle into the studio, meet your fellow retreaters, and take your first real breath in what might be months. We'll do a gentle intro to hand-building and get your hands into clay for the first time — no pressure, no perfection, just presence. Evening: communal dinner under the stars.
Day 2 — Build
Morning session on the wheel or hand-building, your choice. Afternoon: open studio time to experiment, explore textures, and make whatever the island is whispering to you. (Spoiler: it's probably a bowl. The island loves a bowl.) Evening: sunset, snacks, and good conversation.
Day 3 — Glaze & Fire
Learn surface decorating techniques with your creations and pre-made stoneware, find your own textures in the landscape, and prep your pieces for drying and firing. Watch the kiln do its slow, dramatic magic. Afternoon: free time — hike, swim and snorkel, nap in a hammock, or sneak back into the studio because you're already obsessed. We understand.
Day 4 — Unload & Celebrate
The kiln reveal — the most exciting moment in pottery, full stop. Unload your finished pieces, photograph everything, and wrap up with a closing circle and a meal worth remembering. You'll leave with your work, your new skills, and approximately zero desire to go back to your inbox.

- 4 days and 3 nights for one person at our very own, off-grid studio in Hawaii
- All clay, glazes, tools, and materials
- Expert instruction for all skill levels — complete beginners to experienced potters
- Kiln firing
- All meals prepared with fresh and extremely local ingredients, including fresh tropical fruits and fish (check in advance about any dietary needs please)

All skill levels welcome. Whether you've never touched clay or you've been throwing for years and need a creative recharge, this retreat meets you exactly where you are. Small group size — maximum 8 participants — so instruction is personal and the vibe stays intimate.
