Winter Clay Camps: Make And Fill Your own Planters and Candle Vessels
Winter Clay Camps: Make And Fill Your own Planters and Candle Vessels
Our Clay Camps introduce a project and basic sculpting skills to kids and tweens, empowering each student to follow their own creativity and make what inspires them.
In this winter break Clay Camp, kids and tweens learn to use our slab roller and practice beginner-friendly sculpting techniques to create functional pottery.
In collaboration with our downtown small business neighbors, The Gathering Place and The Modern Plantsman, campers will create and adopt planters and candle vessels at Terracotta, and end the week with a new plant in their planter, and a hand-poured candle in their candle vessel. All costs (clay, firing, glazing, plant and candle) are included in the price of this workshop.
Jan 2: Students will become oriented to the studio and create a planter and vessel
Jan. 3: Students will complete their pottery from the day before, and glaze pre-made pottery to take to the local shops the following day
Jan. 4: Students will take their glazed pottery to The Gathering Place to fill with a candle of their choice, and take their glazed planter to The Modern Plantsman to select and plant a plant in.
