Kid/Tween Summer Clay Camps: June 27, 28, 29: Stars & Stripes Wind Chimes/Berry Bowls: Ages 11+

Camps occur simultaneously but in separate Terracotta Pullman studios to ensure positive, age-appropriate projects, instruction, and social experiences with peers.

Camps occur 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Add a Friday for a one-day sculpting project for $35

Kids and tweens will create ceramic windchimes and follow their inspiration to sculpt other functional pottery with instructional support from the Terracotta team. During the first day of “camp” tweens and kids will learn the basics of pottery and become oriented to the studio and how to use our tools, equipment and share a community studio, in addition to starting their slab-building process of creating and carving unique windchimes. On Day 2, students will resume their windchime work, paying special attention to finishing touches, and create berry bowls/small clay colanders featuring the stars and stripes theme. On our third and final day together, students will be encouraged to create what inspires them, using the skills they’ve developed over the previous two days.

Prices include all instruction, clay, tools, kiln firing, and complimentary glazing (to schedule at your convenience two weeks after camp ends)

• Underglaze: Now available for the first time at Terracotta! With underglazes, you can apply them the same day that you sculpt your pottery, so that you can take them home finished after the initial firing, rather than having to come back for glazing and wait for the second firing. Available in a range of beautiful colors! Using one of our pottery wheels? Come back the next day for trimming when your pottery is leather-hard, and apply the underglazes at the same time. They'll be finished and ready for you to bring home after the initial firing! 

Please be prompt: Due to the small size and shared community nature of our studio, we are unable to hold onto unclaimed work. Pottery that is unclaimed within three weeks (after creation or after glazing) becomes the property of the studio and may be given away, sold, or donated at the discretion of the owner of the studio. Please be prompt when glazing and picking up your work so that we can continue to offer maximum access at minimal cost for our community, thank you!
