Nov. 11, 2022: November Update from Terracotta

Logo

Happy Saturday, Terracotta Friends!

Thanks to your kind and enthusiastic support we have been able to add alphabet stamps in more languages, purchase and put together another drying rack and five more shelving units, order more clay and re-stock our glazes with larger bottles of our most popular colors, just in time for the holidays! Here’s a quick update from your little community pottery studio, with new offerings the rest of November, December and into January! We are so grateful!!!

Terracotta is the new Black (Friday):

Are you over the crowds, cold dark hours, and waiting in lines? Us too.

Let’s re-color the Friday after Thanksgiving into a more grounded and beautiful Terracotta.

Join us in the studio Nov. 25 for a full day of different seasonal and holiday workshops, and a handmade card lab in the back! We’ll keep cozy with the kiln, enjoy hot cider and vegan hot cocoa and teas, and just have a nice, fully present time in our happy place. Spend the whole day with us and get a limited edition Terracotta is The New Black t-shirt in return for shopping local and reclaiming this day for making instead of materialism.

Heads up:

Holiday Timelines: Now is the time to book your studio hours and holiday workshops—we have just one month to create pottery we want to finish before Dec. 23. Items intended to gift by Dec. 25 must be started by Dec. 12 with timely glazing. Last day for pre-holiday pick up is Dec. 23.

Want to give the gift of studio time? We have gift cards, clay camps, private event bookings and more! Gift cards provide an infusion of sales we can leverage to purchase new equipment, like an electric pug mill to reclaim all that scrap clay. That’s top of our Christmas Wish List for sure!

Want to make something for the holidays, but not sure what?

Wonder Gnome-more! Gnovember is well underway, and these little guys are quickly taking the place of any departing pumpkins in the studio. Most folks sculpt 3-4 gnomes per workshop, which makes these classes a great all-ages activity, and a perfect start to your handmade gift making season. The studio feels festive with all their little personalities on the shelves—stop by and see for yourself! Elf on a Shelf can take a vacation; we all really want gnomes in our homes!

Just added:

Tween Clay Camps for winter break, including a wheel-throwing one(!!)

Terracotta is the new Black (Friday) Special Makers Day in the Studio

Mug Making Workshop (handbuilt)

More Gnomevember Workshops

Mini Holiday House Monday (all day double-workshop)

Mushroom Incense Burner Workshop

Handmade Card Lab

Fused Snowflake Glass and Ornament Classes

Intermediate wheel classes coming soon

And More!

New: Our Wheels Have Arrived! We now have seven wheels in the studio available for classes, wheel hours, and basking in the beautiful sunlight of our floor-to-ceiling windows!

Hours: Next week’s drop-in, pick-up and glaze hours are:

M-F 9-11 a.m. and 4-8 p.m.

Our hours will be appointment-only the week of Thanksgiving, with a full day of workshops planned for Black Friday—join us!

As a small, local, new business, every sign-up and gift card helps us expand our hours and offerings. We are so grateful for your enthusiasm, ideas and flexibility as we grow and sculpt a kinder world together!!

Much love to you and your creative pursuits,
Candace
